Hill was detained on his way to the game Sunday morning.
I am going to reserve judgement for now, but from the brief videos I have seen, the Police acted appropriately and there is zero evidence of any “excessive” force.
The touchdown celebration was pretty epic. Waddle puts imaginary cuffs on Hill and he walks out of the end zone slowly with his head down. They didn’t show it on tv.
Post game interviews a few Dolphins ended with Free Cheetah! (Tyreeks nickname)
Sounds like this is the new thing for athletes to do when driving to “work”! Remember Scottie Scheffler being jailed before a golf tournament? They get a few “bad boy” points to show how tuff they are!
I actually think it isn’t shootings or the high profile cases that create problems between the police and the community. It’s thousands of interactions like these with basic disrespect.
That may be a valid point, but the officers gave him a chance to comply prior to their language getting over the top.
There is a basic principle of how to get subjects to comply, “ask, tell, make”.
Hill 100% ignored the “ask” and the “tell” part, therefore the only thing left on the table was “make”.
OK, I read the article.
This is the textbook definition of “code switching”.
It could be easily argued that the officers were trying to de escalate by being more informal.
I know it’s merely anecdotal, but I worked with a highly educated black woman. Her husband was a professor at KU and they lived in a very nice neighborhood in Overland Park. But there son was stopped often before he went to college. The only reason was DWB.
