In my life have been stopped 3 times while driving[no driving infractions] being comitted].
Another time, while sitting in my car in a parking lot waiting for someone. Police questione me about something.
All 4 cases, the Police were being pro active. One case I think that the Police were “fishing”.
I am originally from a small town of about 1200 people.
Several years ago I was in town and looking for a buddy (he didn’t have a cell phone), so I drove around several streets.
Since I had Missouri plates and not Nebraska the local PD pulled me over. He was also one of my Scout leaders when I was growing up.
It’s legal to make a right turn on a red light in Ca if it’s clear, Years ago I made that turn and got pulled over, I forgave the policeman for saying, “lady there’s a sign bigger than your head that says no right turn on red” after he explained to me it was near the offramp of the freeway, and cars come off there sometimes doing 70. He gave me a warning and we parted friends.
Officer is asking to be reinstated from Desk duty.

Definitely not the first time that sentence has been said.
The officer asked him why he wasn’t wearing a seat belt. I’ve seen nothing else indicating why he was stopped in the first place. Was that what led to this encounter? Really?
By the way, that car cost least $325K, likely more.
While everybody likes to think that DWB isn’t a thing, that is why a lot of them pull over black dudes. Here is a good example that everyone sided with the cop. She was pulled over for failure to signal a lane change. I can see where this could be a real problem because of all the traffic on that street. Not. And she had said (and in looking at the video I believe) that she said she saw him coming up behind her fast and she moved over to let him pass. Then he got pissed because she wouldn’t put out her cigarette. She got arrested for that one. While she wasn’t “beaten” by the cop, he sure wasn’t the most pleasant thing to deal with. She committed suicide while in jail. IF only she had used her turn signal this would never have happened.
So yes, they will pull over for a minor offense and a black man in an expensive car without a seat belt is going to be reason enough to be pulled over.
The Miami/Dade PD released the tickets.
He was doing 60 in a 40, and what appears to be a construction zone.
The seatbelt was an add on, not cause for stop.
How did the officer know Hill was black with the amount of tint in the window?
