There’s a bigger story behind Colbert’s cancellation

Come to think of it, which one will still be on tv?

And in a complete coincidence.

You honestly believe that CBS cancelled a leftist comic-wannabe not because the show was losing the broadcaster 40 million $ a year, but to curry favor with Trump, so CBS could merge with another media company?

I think there’s plenty of reason to suspect that.

And not much reason to think the show was losing money. Seems that tidbit was never heard until Colbert criticized CBS bending over for Trump in the 60 Minutes case.

Because you have been told to think that

Who told me? Do I have a worm in my brain like the HHS secretary?

The media

You mean CBS?

I can’t possibly add enough eye rolls to do this ridiculous comment the justice it deserves.

Get some therapy man.

So it had nothing to do with the show losing tens of millions a year?

No, everyone who is gnashing their teeth about CBS settling with Trump.
Let’s not forget that CBS is the OG of fake news.

Since he works for the state government, he has no idea of what operating at a loss can do to a business.

I do not work for state government.

But I also find it interesting that we never heard they were operating at a loss until after he criticized the boss and they decided to cancel him.

I read an article laying out some of the terms of the Paramount-Skydance merger. Based on that, this isn’t really a merger but Skydance is acquiring Paramount. I suspect that Skydance told Paramount to clean up their books and get rid of programs that were losing money. A couple of months ago CBS announced the end of four long time and thought to be popular shows. I expect more to come.

So your college is a private one, and not a state institution?

Technicality. I work for a community college. Public institution, but local, not state.

@jimtoo - Do you this may be why Blue Bloods was cancelled.

That is generally how it goes with troubled or non profitable companies, they will set themselves up for sale by “cleaning” up the PnL statements.

Just my opinion, but I think Blue Bloods had run its course.

Ya, telling your boss, in public, how stupid he is really is a great way to move up in an organization!
