No, regardless of anything else, KC was not playing their starters, and the defense was playing vanilla so as to get nothing on tape.
Several other teams played backups this week too.
The Dolphins made Rodgers look like an all star because they suck!
For whatever reason, Andy and the Chiefs brought shame to the game, big time. It couldn’t have been more obvious if the players took the field in street clothes. What a disgrace.
Other teams have done it in the past. There is no reason if the game is meaningless to expose players to harm
They usually play for pride. I was expecting the starters to rest. 38-0 to a division rival, I was not. Not that I’m complaining.

It’s not throwing the game. Mahomes has had at least two ankle injuries that had him limping out of the game, both just a few weeks ago. Even a token appearance could tweak that injury, which is senseless in a meaningless game. And as parrot said, Reid isn’t going to put his defense on display for a future opponent to see and game plan around. Will the Chiefs 3 peat? I don’t know. I do know that if they don’t the haters will be doing the conservative dance I sometimes post here.

Until yesterday, I had hopes they might. Not so sure after that debacle. I’m not a Chiefs hater by any means. Although I was when stationed in Colorado for a number of years and became a Broncos fan. And the Broncos of that era couldn’t have won a game the Chiefs tried to throw.
Be honest now…did you ever in your wildest dreams imagine that you’d be talking this way?
Here is another strategy…maybe some of the folks who were griping that “the refs are their 12th player” and “they are frauds” will point to that outing as proof…and not bring their A game. I’ve lived in KC for 37 years and during that time saw the Chiefs as perennial losers…then improve to the point of having out hearts broken in the playoffs. Now, we are hated for the few years of success they’ve had since I"ve been here.

Nope. Never thought I’d ever have the opportunity, or really wanted it. I thought I was done with the Lions and hadn’t really followed them since the Barry Sanders’ days, until last season. As the saying goes, you can take the boy out of Detroit but you can’t Detroit out of the boy. The team has apparently made its amends with Barry Sanders, who has been on the sidelines for several games.
Think Geezes statment is accurate. The bigger FFS is if Mahomes breaks his back in a meaningless game.
