Anyone following this case? It is absolutely insane that people are supporting her strangling her 3 kids. I guess since we should always believe women we need to believe that devil took over her body while she choked the breath out of her 3 kids.
IMO those that are supporting this lunatic need to be evaluated by CPS if they have minors in their homes.

IMO the prosecution proved that this was premeditated. She planned to have her husband away. She googled before hand.

My understanding is that the legal test is whether or not the defendant understood right from wrong. A person can be mentally ill including psychosis But if they exhibit behavior that suggests that they knew what they were doing was illegal or wrong they can and should be convicted.
In this case the fact that she had her husband out of the house intentionally clearly indicates a presence of mine and knowledge of the fact that the act was illegal.

How would you think about this if she was high on drugs or drunk and did this? People do dumb things when drunk or or on drugs. They are in a temporary impaired state of mind.
She should get life without parole only if the death penalty is off the table, nothing less.
A person high on drugs who commits a crime is still responsible for the crime. I might be willing to mitigate the punishment to a certain extent. If they get treatment and can stick with it (which isn’t easy), maybe they don’t need to be locked up just to make a point.
A person with serious mental illness may have no ability to control their behavior. You can get them treatment over incarceration.
I haven’t followed this particular case closely enough to have a strong opinion. The legal definition is pretty narrow.
In over 10 years working Corrections I met one person who was found NGRI, and I 100% agree with it. This dude was whacky as fuck ( and that is a clinical term).
I also saw an instance when a death row sentence was committed to life without due to mental deficiency, which made no sense. If you are too mentally deficient to be executed, you are too mental deficient to survive in general population.

It’s not really about who she strangled, but whether she was in her right mind. Or, the legal question is a little narrower than that. Was she capable of understanding what she did and that it was wrong.
There are all kinds of reasons someone might strangle an immigrant or a transgender person. Strangling your own kids is so horrific, I’d be shocked if she was sane.
But like I said, I haven’t kept up with the case to have that strong an opinion about it.

Yeah, people usually love their kids. If I hear someone strangled their kids, mental illness is my first thought.
Could me mental illness with the others too, but could be plenty of other things.
