Jimtoo - You are correct that one of the women in that 1895 photo is Helen Keller and she was played by Patty Duke in the 1962 movie. The other female is her teacher Anne Sullivan who was Helen Kellers teacher. Patty Duke played the role of Helen Keller in the original Broadway play and the 1962 move and Anne Bancroft played Anne Sullivan in that movie. Then years later Patty Duke played the role of Anne Sullivan in a made for TV movie

Mark Twain referred to her as the Miracle Worker which inspired the title for the movie and play.

mcarley - yes it is Anne Frank with her sister Margot. This photo of two young girls enjoying the beach, thinking that they have a long life ahead of them, breaks my heart

My local theater may be doing the play “Diary of Anne Frank” later this year.
I hope we do, I would like to be in it.

Hint: This is from a 1939 movie that is based on an 1847 novel. The actor in this photo won the 1939 academy award for best actor for his performance in this movie.

Another Hint: In this 1939 movie the actress played the role of Cathy and the actor played the role of Heathcliff.

Hint: This is a 1954 photo of a film director, producer, and screenwriter carrying his daughter who grew up be an actress.

Another hint: She starred in the movie version of a novel authored by Ira Levin that was filmed in the apartment building where John Lennon lived at the time of his death.

Natalie wood?

I think that little blond girl is Mia Farrow (that movie was Rosemary’s Baby based an excellent, but scary, book).

It is not Natalie Wood. This 1940 photo shows this actress holding her academy award for best actress in a 1939 movie.

jimtoo - You are correct it is a very young Mia Farrow with her well known father John Farrow. I agree that Rosemary’s Baby was an excellent book, as well as a very good movie. Ira Leven was one of my favorite authors at the time. I, also, loved his book The Boys from Brazil and the play Deathtrap that he wrote, which I saw on Broadway.

Never saw the play, but Christopher Reeve and Michael Caine were excellent in the movie.

The answer is Merle Oberon and Laurence Olivier in the movie Wuthering Heights based on the novel by Emily Brontë. That novel was required reading for my high school English class and while I was reading the book there was a revival of the original 1939 movie version at a local movie theater. It was very helpful to see the movie while I was reading this novel.
