Current printer is an HP 8725. I’ve had it for 7-8 years. The prior one was also an HP and lasted 6-7 years. The current one has printed who knows how many thousands of pages.
I have a Brother 8360CDW color laser printer that I’ve used for 7 or 8 years with no problems other than an occasional driver update which is pretty simple to do.
The problem I’ve had with cheap inkjet printers is that they are notoriously slow and unreliable and gobble up too much ink. To get consistent quality and reliability in a color inkjet you have to spend as much money as an office color laser printer and the ink gets real expensive.
You should be able to buy a good color laser printer for $300. Third-party toner is cheap compared to ink.
Over ten years ago I got tired of junk inkjet printers.
I bought a Canon office laser 3 into 1 printer that I still use to this day. It absolutely always works. Yes, it is quite large and heavy but I haven’t moved it since I got it.
The Canon toner cartridges aren’t cheap but I found a good aftermarket supplier on Amazon. And they last forever (and Lasers don’t clog!). I think I’m only on my 3rd set of cartridges in over 10 years.
I remember the super junk brand “Lexmark”. They were so bad they aren’t anywhere to be seen anymore. I bought one that went through it’s “starter” ink cartridges in a week. Bought brand new ones and the printer just stopped working, it wouldn’t accept it’s own brand name cartridges!
I’m so plain I drink my coffee black. If I’m craving something sweet, I add some canned cream and sugar. I’m surprised no one has complained they want to order Starbucks in English.
Got a brother color laser Printer/FAX/ scanner. It has worked well for 5 years. Cartridges are not cheap, but last a long time.
Thinking about one for the house, or a refillable ink-jet 3-in-1 Epson. Heard the refillable inkjets are the cheapest cost per page, but would like to know others’ opinions. I want to be able to print photos.
