I know a lot of democrats. They are pretty successful, own nice homes, drive nice cars, have some very high end bikes, and are not at all like this. I guess this is the Republican equivalent of the âlibsâ (keeping it short for my lazy conservative friends who find typing âeralâ to be too much work) portrayal of Trump as Hitler.
You know good people.
I do, but this is not representative of the vast majority. Just like the vase majority of MAGA voters are not nazi supporters. But sadly, many consider shit like this to be ânewsâ because they feel that it sums up the problems with our country. It doesnât.
Democrats are the ones complaining that their welfare, food stamps, Medicaid and other handouts are being taken away. Theyâre the ones whining about having to repay their student loans. They are also complaining about tax breaks for people who make more than they do being made permanent.
Very nice wide brush youâre painting with their beers
Is it Republicans or dems complaining about welfare, food stamps, Medicaid and other handouts are being taken away? Which party is whining about student loans and the 2017 tax cuts being made permanent?
Someone please give that homeless ass a home.
Yes;. Itâs called âcompassionâ but in the MAGA era, compassion is s weakness. We want to them a life preserver to help them thru rough times. Republicans want to make them swim behind the ship for 3 miles before doing anything for them. I kind of wish we would have denied Craig Nelson food stamps and welfare since nobody was helping him anyways.m
Sorry, I donât have compassion for able bodied assholes who are too lazy to provide for themselves. Everyone I know works to pay for their own food, health care, housing and everything else they need to survive, itâs called being an adult. Who paid for your food, health care and housing once you became a big boy and left mommy and daddyâs house?
My kid paid his rent, utilities, food, beer, pot, frat dues and everything else on his own for 3 years during college with a part time job and was still able to take a couple trips a year and put a few grand a year in his Roth IRA. Being an adult isnât that difficult.
Neither do I, but I take compassion on a case by case basis. You all have this wide brush that paint everybody the same.
Which is basically what the new policy will be.
Exactly, if someone is just milking the system they need to get a job and provide for themselves, itâs not cruel or uncompassionate.
Thatâs what we call confiscation of peopleâs money, under threat of imprisonment, so it can be given to others who donât work?
If someone doesnât want to work thatâs their decision but donât expect me to pay for the things they need and want.
Then why do you treat the guy who had a hardship that was out of his control as one of these slackers?
Huh?
Everyone I know has had hardships, they dealt with the situation and move on.
and you know so many peoople that has experienced a hardship that you are now an expert. A few years ago I passed a house where the kids were having a bake sale to help pay for their dads cancer treatments. He had been laid off his job and couldlnât afford cobra, but back then the compassionate folks like you came back with âsell the fancy car and boatâ. Even though they ddinât have a boat, and the car was about a 5 year old Honda Accord. Conservaticve compassion. But at least they werenât taking welfare yet.
If he was laid off heâd get unemployment. If he couldnât work because of a disability heâd be able to get SSI and Medicaid. I was laid off years ago and collected unemployment and used savings until I started my next job.
Did you have cancer?
