Maybe new to the author, but those stories about the band name have been around for years, if not decades.

The Netflix documentary That Little Ol’ Band From Texas is pretty good and thorough. I think it’s from around 5 years ago.
I have a uncle that was a tour manager for ZZ Top. He was disabled when a tower of speakers fell on him (40 ish years ago).
Sorry about your uncle, but a cool story. Better than getting hit by a bus or falling off a roof.
He passed several years ago. He had a hard life with drugs and rock and roll.
