I have a new contestant for worst movie ever. After languishing for several years in my Netflix queue, I finally saw Rock of Ages.
The movie seems to exist for the sole purpose of allowing Tom Cruise and other cast members to lip sync 80s power ballads, very very badly. I knew it was supposed to be campy, but it’s not even good camp.
But hey, if you really need to see a Starship/Twisted Sister mashup, go for it.
I think if I want 80s camp, I’ll wait for the next season of Cobra Kai.
I am probably in the minority with this one but I did not like the Titanic movie that was made in 1997 with Leonardo diCaprio and Kate Winslet. However, I loved the movie about the Titanic titled “A Night to Remember” that was made in 1958.
My wife and I were dating and she wanted me to watch it.
After the first VHS tape ran out and she was changing to the second one she asked me;
“What do you think so far?”
My answer was;
“There is a whole other tape?”
It would have to be the two movies I walked out on - Beyond Therapy…the ads had it as one of the funniest movies ever. We never laughed once, and halfway thru decided to leave. The other was Punch Drunk Love with Adam Sandler. It wasn’t a mindless Sandler movie…but the “music” in the soundtrack was headache induciing. We left and commented to the manager that if this were a restaurant and that was a meal, we would have sent it back. They gave us passes to another movie.
