From back in January.
That’s bullshit, just another way democrats are trying to screw Americans. If a business doesn’t want pay credit card fees they should only accept cash.
A lot of this stems from the fact that we have a duopoly that has a stranglehold on the card processing market. More competition and/or choice will be better for everyone…
I agree, if someone can do it better and cheaper it’ll benefit all card users, the government doesn’t need to get involved.
If democrats really cared about costs to customers they would lower business owners and corporate tax rates, but Harris wants to raise those. Who does Durbin thinks actually pays for that tax increase?
Speaking of who pays taxes…One of the candidates proposes tariffs on pretty much all imports. A tariff is a tax. Who will actually pay for THAT tax increase?
The same people who pay for corporate taxes, business owners taxes, government regulations, minimum wage increases and all other business expenses. Should we lower all those taxes?
It will be short term pain for long term gain.
Remember you praise Jimmy Carter for that.
But that will have the same effect as that economy killing inflation. Not sure how you tame inflation by raising prices on 90% of the goods we buy.
It will be market based instead of manufactured by government incompetence
Higher prices are higher prices. Imagine how many MORE people will be maxxing out their credit cards. And I blame post pandemic supply chain issues for the spike in 2021.
People can choose to buy American made products and not pay the tariff.
Is that true when caused by higher corporate and business taxes or only with tariffs?
This works for small business. In my small town there are a couple of cash only places. The local mechanic told me the bank wanted 7% for him to process cards. This was prior to square that charges about 3%. It doesn’t work so well for large business. The risk of loss from employee theft and the actual expense of the armored cash truck to pickup cash make processing credit cards about the same cost.
Locally we have medical marijuana. They are all cash only businesses. The whole chain of the grower, distributor, processor, and dispensary is all cash. These places are always being robbed.
Are those products cheaper today or will buying American still mean that they are paying more. And will people who max out their cards becaus of this “tariflation” stil have your sympathy?
Don’t look now but a tariff IS a tax.
There is no tax on American made products and there won’t be. If democrats get their way and increase the corporate and business taxes EVERYTHING will cost customers more.
Are you against raising corporate taxes?
You are wasting your time trying to explain this to lefties.
Are American made products currently higher or lower than imports? I mean if an imported widget is $5 and and American widgen is $7.50, after the tariff raises the price of the imported widget to $7.85, even buying the American widget the consumer will still be spending $2.50 more. How does this help the Americans with maxxed out credit cards get back on their feet?
Why? Are the CC companies reluctant to process payments for pot still?
Yes, until the federal government changes the classification of weed.
