Why the country is becoming "obese"

She was talking about weight. A side mention of pregnancy, but it wasn’t the focus of the post. BM can correct me if I am wrong, but I don’t believe she was referring to anything about abortion…only that it’s become politically incorrect for a doctor to mention weight, lest he be accused of fat shaming.

Kc - you are right. I was talking about the fact that doctors didn’t want their patients to gain too much weight when they were pregnant for health reasons. The reason why I mentioned my weight before I was pregnant was to illustrate that even though I was thin at that time my doctor still didn’t want me to gain too much weight while I was pregnant.

Thanks KC and BridgeMaven

I definitely think we’ve become too politically correct

Hey I think another brand (Lucky Strikes?) claimed the same thing. Hard to believe it was advertised as being good for the throat.

LSMFT - Lucky Strikes Means Fine Tobacco

This is what I grew up watching

Cartoon for beer

Then there were Candy cigarettes also.

Oh yes candy cigarettes bring back memories.

I also remember those cigarette commercials and they really upset my father who was a radiologist, as well as a cancer specialist, because even in the fifties my father told me that smoking causes cancer. My father did such a good job of teaching me about the dangers of smoking while I was in elementary school that I never smoked even though most of my high school friends did. It is relatively unusual for a parent’s influence to be stronger than peer pressure but I admired my father so much for saving the lives of so many cancer patients that in this situation it did.

Also bubble gum shaped like cigars.
