Did anyone else not realize that Mary Magdaline was singing this song to Jesus when they first heard it?
That one is a close call, but I am a bit biased toward this one, my wife, covering the Ronstadt version.
To me the choice between these two versions is an absolute no-brainer.

This one probably depends on generations.

Um…exactly zero of us needed to know that second version exists.
This one is pretty close for me, but I like the later version.

And, two versions of the same song by the same group.

I would have posted that if I had downloaded it at the time.
My vote of the two is Ronstadt.
For I shot the Sheriff, I vote a tie. Marley is just excellent. Phil Collins has a thing for Motown music , but the Supremes get my vote. On the first three I vote for Elliman, Robbins and Elvis.
Another Elvis cover of an early one.
Three choices this time. First is the songwriter, then the most famous one, then, a lesser known, with a beautiful vocal.
How about three versions. For this one it is a contest between the first two, but the third doesn’t belong in the conversation. My vote is for the second version.
