I had made a comment on a Yahoo story about people who were taking out a line of credit on their homes to pay off credit card debt. Someone had posted about a good thing, and someone else pointed out that they didn’t really pay off any debt, they just shifted it, . I added this:
And changes it from unsecured debt to secured debt, which kind of sucks if you can’t pay your bills.
That comment violated Yahoo’s terms of service. Super sensitive I guess.

Nothing. Maybe someone got sensitive and reported it or the algorithm got weird.
The thing to remember is it’s not people who make these decisions. It’s AI bots and they ain’t all that bright.

Bots cannot identify nuance in a comment and are generally formulated to try to dragnet the lowest common denominator (teenagers/trolls).
Your use of the second person combined with “sucks” probably tripped something in the algorithm.
Don’t take it seriously. It’s all a silly game.

Yep, they probably have certain words that offend people that get butt hurt easily, like ■■■■.
“Suck” isn’t as offensive as it used to be, I’ve seen it in advertising and most parents wouldn’t be upset if their kid used it in the proper context.

This is, unfortunately, a trait not limited to bots.

The only comment I was ever chastised for on FB was when I said “stupid white people” on a video a Mexican friend of mine posted.

I’ll have to give Fb some credit. At least they’re consistent. Can’t call them racist, at least not in this example.
Agree, it really did make me laugh.
