What happens when you put too much algaecide in a Pool

I have a kiddie pool with a fountain. May have overdone it with the algaecide.

I don’t have too much difficulty with my pool as long as I keep up on the chlorine and filter pump keeps going. There is dead algae that accumulates at the bottom that I must vac out every 2-3 weeks. It doesn’t take long for the pool to turn green if it’s neglected. A couple years ago, my pump quit and it took a couple weeks to get replacement. Algae growth was quick.

Ours is salt, after opening we had to get the levels checked weekly for about a month and adjust different things (shock, baking soda, muratic acid, etc.), but once it cleared up it has been basically zero maintenance, we sweep the deck and steps, empty the filters, and run the robot vacuum and that is it.

I am the pool boy that vacuums the pool. It doesn’t take too long but I have been thinking about getting a robot.

My dog hates it, it is funny to watch him run around the pool when I have it on the setting that climbs the walls.

That’s very similar to my salt pool experience as well.

I could neglect the acid levels for two weeks and never have a problem. That salt cell that generates chlorine works wonders.

A robot will be life changing. I got the Nautilus CC Supreme for $1500, but I have heard there are cheaper alternatives that will do just as good a job.

I don’t remember what ours cost, our installer got it for us at cost.
Is yours cordless? Ours is not, I kind of wish it was, not a huge deal, but slightly annoying.

No, mine was corded.

Me personally, I was fine tolerating the cord. Cordless would leave the patio clear, but would require MUCH more effort to remove the battery and charge it frequently.

From what I’ve read, the battery charge only lasts for one or two cleaning cycles.

We had ours running for 2.5 hrs every single day.

Good to know, like I said, not a game changer, just gets in the way slightly when floating around.
I take it out when we have more than just the wife and I in the pool.
My son was in town last weekend and I pushed the button to take it out of the pool. He didn’t realize it would come all the way out and it startled him.

Lot of pool talk here. Have gone thru many floats, the past 25 years or so. This is my favorite.

Looking for one with a drink holder, getting tired of keeping my drink on the side.

One of the best thing that I have bought for the pool about 15 years ago. Different design than the one I have. It is a little pricey, but worth it.
