Waze is awesome yet a little scary

So I use Waze every time I drive. So every morning Monday through Friday is asks if I’m going to work and takes me home at end of day. Today I got in car for lunch and it asked if I was going to Chick-fil-A. I happen to go to Chick-fil-A on mondays. I’m waiting for Wednesday to see if it takes me to Whataburger

Is that instead of Apple or Google maps?

Google owns them, but it’s seperate from Google maps, but I think they’re incorporating some Waze features into maps.

Specifically the crowd sourcing of traffic…

Yes google owns them but it’s gives better info while driving like accidents, cops, and road hazards. It has saved me time over and over

Had to get rid of that shit.

Got in the car one evening with the wife, it asked if I was going to the gf’s house.

Google maps has been adding some of those features. It’ll welcome you when you cross the border into a different state, give a heads up for speed traps, stalled vehicles and debris in the road. I tried Waze a few years ago but found it too cluttered.

I had it on when I was driving to Texas for a friends wedding a year and a half ago. I didn’t really need it but had it on and I’m glad I did…I was going down I35 and it told me to exit near Paul’s Valley. At first I thought it lost it’s mind, but then I saw a road construction sign wth the words “expect delays” so I took it’s advice ans wound around some back roads, then back on 35. Later I found out that if I had stayed on 35 I would have been delayed about an hour. I used to use it for police reports but it didn’t’ seem to do much of that anymore
