I love watching leftists quote Dick Cheney as some kind of wise sage.
This is the man notorious for his soulless scowl, who pressured Colin Powell into ruining his reputation by making a passionate case in front of the UN for toppling Saddam Hussein’s Bathist regime on an extremely shaky factual foundation. Of course this case was later revealed to be the product of telltale bureaucratic groupthink, with no one being willing to inform the emperor he was naked.
Cheney was the caricaturistic face on every leftist war protester’s banner, representing all that was evil in the American political-military war machine.
And now they think his opinions about global volatility are worth quoting, because we are talking about our Great Orange Satan.
They would quote Donald Rumsfeld if he was still alive and saying the same things, even though they hated him just as much, if not more so, than Cheney.
I give Elton John credit for seeing the humor in the rocket man situation, but he still has his head dug deeply into the sand on how global politics works. Just like pretty much all leftists and pearl clutchers.
Trump threatens these people’s status and power, and that’s all this is about.

They’re just so silly and naive. What they call love, most of the world sees as weakness. Bad actors will exploit that weakness handily, as they’ve been doing for decades.

The last 12 years coincides with Trumps rise. Right after Obama skewered him for his birth certificate bullshit, he set out for revenge.

He is a British citizen, so he basically stays out of US politics. But he is basically just a good person who doesn’t let politics interfere with his personal life.
