Just had nasal surgery Tuesday.
Still draining slightly but should be stopped by tomorrow.
Anyone else had it? How long until no longer stuffed up in the nose?
Supposed to increase my airflow significantly.

I don’t know what you had…back when my daughter was in fifth grade I had surgery to remove infection/scar tissue from my nose. It was uncomfortable for a week because I had stents in, but when they took them out they told me to do the saline irrigation to keep scar tissue from forming. I did and it worked. The weird thing is that my allergies basically quit bothering me. I still do the irrigation, 25 years later and yes, my breathing is VERY clear.
When I had it done I had heard horror stories about it. I chose a female doctor because I felt that she would be “gentler”. It turns out that she was not only very good with the scalpel, but she was VERY easy on the eyes. When I went to get the stents removed I held on to the armrests for dear life. She asked what was wrong and I said I had heard how awful this was, but so far is was just uncomfortable but not painful. She laughed and said I would be so numb I won’t feel it, although I might be surprised at how long they are (and I was). She said most me call to complain about the pain after three days or so. I didn’t telll her this, but I think they called because they wanted to talk to a pretty lady.
No stents, but I have to irrigate 3-4 times a day, basically a saline rinse.
Yep, did use packing or sponges?

I am using a sinus rinse bottle that squirts the saline up
You sure? That would be unusual for that surgery. Normally the use at least a sponge.
I’m not sure if this was the same procedure I had some years ago, partly intended to help with sleep apnea. Not sure how well it worked. Mine was done by a pulmonologist.
I guess they may have used one, but there was nothing in my nose when I went home.
Can you breathe clearly through both nostrils? The sponges dissolve over 1-2 weeks. If you blow hard. They’d come out. Once they are out, you’ll start to breathe better.
Not yet, they didn’t say anything about sponges but did say to not blow my nose, and to make sure my mouth was open if I sneezed.
I almost “farmer blew” my nose in the shower yesterday, that would have been bad
I suspect there are sponges in there. They dissolve. Blowing changes the pressure and can blow out clots.
