This must be more 3D chess…these items are the ones that were supposed to move companies to bring production back to the US. So we wreck the world economy, sow distrust of the US and alienate our friends so that we can maintain the status quo?
It appears that Trump is now backing away from the exemption.
It will be tariff on again, off again, lower again, higher again, broadened more, narrowed more for the next 85 days. Each day causes the U.S. to become less trusted by the rest of the world. This isn’t we have two trains going in the tunnel in opposite directions. There will be no winner. We are so fucked. The only winners might be our most dangerous adversaries.

We heard that nonstop during his first term, voters decided after 4 years of Biden/Harris or whoever was running things that Trump wasn’t so bad. It’s going to be fun watching lefties whine for the next 4 years.
ON the upside, one way to get interest rates back down is to trash the economy, and he’s well on his way to doing that. So I’ll give him all the credit when it happens.
