Toyotas are not bad cars. I wonder what’s more dangerous; two cyber trucks in a head on collision or two Toyota’s. The Toyota appears to have been totaled
Two cyber trucks could be deadly as the car is not absorbing the impact, the passengers are
That’s true but it’s best not to mention it. It will stop a bullet., The windows are (almost) unbreakable. It can float like a boat. It can go from zero to 60 in under 3 seconds. The in house safey test show how little damage the sheet metal endures (but not the crash test dummy injuries)
Most modern cars are totaled anymore. the body is designed to give - crumple - absorb energy. The Cybertruck is designed to get attention and kill anyone that isn’t involved in a head on crash with it. They pooh pooh the fact that the only injury was to the Cybertruck driver, but the Toyota driver walked away despite his car looking like it was hit by a train. That’s because the Cybertruck driver absorbed more of the energy that they vehicle did. I’m sure that somewhere in it’s development this would have been brought up. But this allows us to relive the 60’s, when we were safely surrounded by 3 tons of American steel.
The article focuses on the fact that an EV cybertruck creamed a 2009 Toyota Corolla. It unfortunately overlooks the fact that a 2009 Corolla weighs 2,800-2,900 lbs and a cybertruck weighs 6,600-6,900 lbs. In a 2 vehicle crash where one of the vehicle weighs more than twice as much as the other, whatever their method of propulsion, guess which one almost always comes out the winner.
