For the record, I posted this after the Eagles went up 34-0 in the third period.
It is now 37-6 with just under ten minutes left in the fourth.
I think that last play about seals it.
Holy shit. I thought the chiefs were supposed to crush this.
40-6 now. Five score game with eight minutes left.
I didn’t understand going for two.
The Eagles fans are doing the tomahawk chop now.
Yeah, the crowd booed the Swifties when they took the field.
And the vultures are out.
It was a beat down and Philly was just the better team. KC’s experience got them as far as they did.
And Trump is classy as always:
Trump was booed too.
Way to keep it classy Don.
Before halftime the only thing I cared about was my prop bets.
That game was awful.
I hate to admit it, but Andy Reid got outcoached.
The refs favored the Eagles.
IMO they did a good job, maybe on questionable call I saw.
Ya, they must have tripped the Chiefs left tackle when the Eagles got all those sacks.
Don’t know which player it was (offensive line) but in his post game interview his comments were simply - they beat us. They being the Eagles,
I’m kind of glad they lost. It was pretty obvious last night that the refs weren’t going to “rig the game” for the Chiefs so I’ll be happy to let Philly have a great season next year and get that focus on them. America hates a winner. I base that on my own feelings about Tom Brady and the Patriots.
What happened last night is similar to the SB that Tampa Bay won. Our OL was questionable towards the end of the season and the Eagles took advantage of that. Mahomes is still a great QB but he has to have time, which he didn’t last night. He gets a lot of hate too, but his comments were “I let y’all down tonight”. Sorry but I think he’s a pretty classy guy
I was hoping for a shutout, but I’ll take the result.
Just thinking about this, the only other time I can remember a Super Bowl winner making it back the following year and getting thrashed was in 1983. That was the Washington Redskins team with the Smurfs, the Hogs and the Fun Bunch along with Joe Theisman, who seemed to spend as much time talking to the press as preparing for games. I remember thinking then that that team seemed just a bit too confident in themselves as the season wore on, and I remember them being shell-shocked too in that game.
I don’t think the same applied to the Chiefs. They had plenty of experience and knew what to expect. They just were not as strong this year as in years past and had won several very close games. Things finally caught up to them.
