Cheating in golf is expected, in fishing it can get you up to 10 years.
lol, my dad this once, but as a joke. I went deep sea fishing with him and there was a contest for the biggest fish, by weight. Looked like one of his might be close to the winner, until late in the day and some guy got a huge one. It was clear it wasn’t going to be close. My dad took a couple of his 5 lb weights and put them down the fish’s mouth. They laughed when he came over with the clearly smaller fish, then their jaws dropped. Luckily, he told on himself as he wasn’t really trying to cheat.
Someone once said “if you ain’t cheating, you ain’t trying.”
I play golf for fun, so I am going to move my ball off a tree root, give myself 3 footers, and an occasional mulligan.
About a month before the Club Tournament every year I play 100% by the rules, but that is about it.
I hardly ever keep score during golf.
If I’m having a good round, I’m usually keeping score.
If not, I just hit and pick up when I’m tired of a hole.
I never pen scorecards with scores that wouldn’t pass muster. No point. It would just give me a false impression of what I can shoot.
A lot of the time it is me and my wife and she sometimes wants to scramble. So I am just working on my game. When I am not golfing with her I keep an honest score to an extent. I won’t post to GHIN if I am using mulligans and such.
In golf terms, what is “scramble?”
Hell, what is GHIN?
Scramble is the team takes the best shot and hits from there.
GHIN is the handicap system
I would take a fishing rod with my in my golf bag. If the course was running slow, I would give it a few casts while waiting. If it was really slow on the course, I might fish for 10 minutes just because it looked like a good fishing spot.
