This is far more than an economic issue, it is a way to regulate ICE vehicles (and likely hybrids) out of existence. It is a way to greatly increase the price of ICE vehicles to make EVs look better in comparison. It could also cut the sale of popular pickups, just the auto makers are eliminating many models of cars.
I have read that the proposed rule is only 696 pages.
