during the early 70s, I thought in a low income neighborhood where most of my students lived in low income housing projects. A few of these kids found me a few decades later on Facebook and we’ve been in touch. It makes me smile to see how many of these kids have done so well for themselves in spite of their background I attribute it to the fact that they
came come two parent households who were concerned about their future.

Yep. Hard work and sacrifices pay off. Everyone I know started their adult life poor and managed to make it solidly into the middle class and above.

I volunteered to run an aid/water station for a 5k/10k/half marathon this weekend.
People being appreciative of volunteers makes me happy and I will definitely do it again.

I haven’t had much time to volunteer for a long while. I actually like to volunteer.
