Normally I do not get worked-up about pieces that bring up race when it has nothing to do with the topic. And, I admit that there are times that I think that some are just as quick to reflexively dismiss such opinions as they accuse others of reflexively bringing it up.
With that said, this piece is a total load of crap and I - naively - would have never expected to see something like this, even by the standards if those who usually bring race up.
Maybe the head to head vs Miami had more to do with it.

I have read several articles making the case that Notre Dame belonged in ahead of Alabama. I have also read a few that this is the NCAA’s way of sticking it to Notre Dame for playing as an independent when they would have been better served under the playoff selection criteria by being in a conference. That point does make some sense.
Saying that they kept Notre Dame out because their coach is black is flat-out asinine.
