There’s a bigger story behind Colbert’s cancellation

But did Bush call them the enemy of the people and demand that their license be pulled. And of course, tehre were those 'factually accurate" stories aobu Obama’s birth certificate and eligibility to be president. Despite that he never demanded their broadcast licesnes be pulled.

If it went to trial there would have been discovery. Therein would have been the real problem for CBS and the DNC, i.e. Kamala and her CBS allies that were working with her to smear Trump.

I wish they wouldn’t have settled.

This reminds me of the time in 2015 when then President Obama sent $350.000 of US taxpayers money to a political advocacy group that was supporting Netanyahu’s opponent for Prime Minister. Then when Obama was confronting about this he claimed he thought it was for an organization to encourage peace in the Middle East and got away with that outrageous lie to justify what what he did.

Has it occurred to you that they might all be losing money?

Or is the idea of Trump-hating pseudo-comedians failing to make money just too uncomfortable for you to stomach?

Sure, that kind of coincidence is just unthinkable.

It couldn’t possibly be that an untalented has-been comedian finally got canned after running a money-losing show for years.

I’m sure his criticism of Paramount wasn’t the last straw, but rather it was the Great Satan Trump that was the key factor.

He was cancelled because the show wasn’t profitable. It lost 40 million dollars a year

And the timing was just a coincidence.

It still on for another year

And I find that strange… unless its to fulfill a contract obligation. But they’re all so talented I’m sure they’ll find work with the same income.
How many employers give a years notice before letting someone go?

They are not renewing his contract. It loses money. Only kc and sarge watch it

Paramount had already caved in making their cowardly settlement with the President named Sue on the 60 Minutes phony tape editing charge. I think the Colbert cancellation may have been somewhat
economically driven, but it had a fair amount of political cowardice behind it, too. Perhaps they needed the funds to cover their bending a knee to the Trump legal team on the out-of-court settlement.

So did he switch genders to become the first female president ?

Understood, but why the announcement a year in advance?

To placate Trump and to give him time for insulting tweets about Colbert. Being president can get to be so boring that you need something to keep you occupied.

Whicn makes me think…if you were a private company and had an employe who spent as much time on social media as Trump spends, you’d likely fire them.

The people that hired him last year were well aware of how much time he spends on social media, they realized he was MUCH better for the job than the others applying for the job.

This mentality that there was an ulterior motive instead of just accepting that someone lost their job because they weren’t doing it well has become a very harmful trend. It causes people to think it wasn’t their fault for losing their job so they don’t do anything to.make themselves more employable

A lot of people ignore facts and real reasons and make excuses for everything. Losing $40 million a year is a pretty good reason to end a TV show.
