I had a Gilbert Chemistry Set when I was a kid. I kept our basement drains clean.
My older brothers had a chemistry set, I forget the brand name but most of the things needed for the cool experiments were gone by the time I got to it. I did have fun with their mid 1960’s Erector Set, lots of rusty sharp pieces of metal to play with. It also had a small electric motor to build a crane that I got zapped with a few times.
Definitely helped you learn to pay attention
I definitely could have used that
My parents made me use the set in the basement because I stunk up the kitchen with my creations. I don’t remember everything that was in it, but I think it would not be allowed today. I also had an erector set, but no motor, just metal things.
