When my daughter was a baby a lot of people had backpack baby carriers where you put your baby on your back. I never had one because I didn’t like the idea that you couldn’t see your baby so it would be very easy for someone to steal a child that way.
I don’t think anyone would think it is safe to use one now but at the time they were very popular
How would you not notice the baby being removed?
We had a baby Bjorne for a while, but not long because our son was big and they only go to 25 lbs. we did use a backpack for hiking.
@mcarley - It may be different in the suburbs but we lived in Manhattan at the time where it was very crowded and very noisy. Keep in mind that in crowded cities it is not uncommon for a thief to steal a wallet from a back pocket without that person realizing that he had just been robbed
