I agree, but sometimes they just can’t let go. It might be ego, money or something else. Stewart is 81 and, in my opinion, he lost the voice people remember 5-10 years ago. Richie is surprising. Maybe it’s because he’s a tad younger then me, but still pushing the envelope..
Would be nice if someone had told that to BB King before I saw him in his last years.
We last saw him in 2003-2004, and even then he sat through his performance and had difficulty walking on and off the stage.
Willie Nelson sat when I saw him last, and I may see him again in a couple of weeks. But he did most of the playing and singing. When I see Willie, I want to hear Trigger. When I see BB, I want to hear Lucille. Unfortunately, when I saw BB, he hardly played.
Heading to Modesto tomorrow night to see Paul Thorn. Age less of an issue there.
