Every deer hunting season we used to make money handling bad shootings.

In case I remember that was most unusual was a fellow shot a female hunter during a Turkey hunting season and his excuse was that when she dressed up In camouflage that looks like feathers she actually looks like a Turkey and he thought she was.

When I met her observed that she was only about four and a half feet tall and when dressed up like a Turkey I might have shot her if I were a hunter.

I’ll clarify up front that I know zero about turkey hunting.

But this seems weird to me. I’d think they’d do better to wear normal camo and hide on the edge of the brush.

Can’t imagine a turkey allowing me to get close to it simply because I am wearing feathers, even if I was 4 ft tall. I’d think my subterfuge would be laughably obvious to the turkeys.

I don’t know much about turkey hunting either and what you said makes sense to me.

Of course hunters are people and some of them do crazy things.

Lol very true.

I hear stories every so often of hunters interacting with the game wardens, and some of the stupidity is difficult to believe.

My attitude is that people want to go hunting should join special forces instead of picking on small defenseless animals.

Special forces will definitely take them hunting.

Maybe consider this alternative view:

Hunting a wild animal for food means not buying the meat from an animal that was raised in captive, unsanitary, and inhumane conditions.

It’s also healthier than a caged animal.

Hunting has been a natural activity of every non-herbivore species since the beginning of animal life on earth, millions of years ago.

Nobody accused the Tyrannosaurus Rex of picking on poor defenseless animals.

I respect your right to your opinion.

I’ve used the animal in the wilderness just trying to make a living like the rest of us Then somebody comes along and shoots him just for kicks.

Raccoons are not good eats.

That’s not all hunters. You are making an inaccurate generalization.

Some hunters, like myself, hunt for food. Not for sport, or for kicks.

Hunting for food is acceptable, hunting for kicks in my opinion is not.
