As with everything else in energy, propane prices are on the move. I heat with propane. Historically it has been pretty cheap for me to heat on. I have some large tanks that allow me to buy in bulk when cheap and help flatten my heating costs. I can store several years of heating propane at my house.
This is the time of the year that it is cheapest to fillup your home tanks. We are currently trending above our 5 year high for this time of the year. There is some talk about propane prices skyrocketing this year due to lower supply, higher demand, and higher exports. Many people moving outside of natural gas service. Many restaurants using outdoor heaters since they can’t have customers indoors. Also we are exporting more. There is the potential to really squeeze prices this year. A long cold winter could do the trick.
