Pool opening in less than 2 months

Temps 25 degrees below normal. Couple inches of snow yesterday. Gotta love Global warming.

I can’t wait. This cold sucks. -4* at my house this morning. Typically Oklahoma winter. I think last week we had an 80* day. Now -4. Next week it’s likely to get to 70*.

Currently 29 an hour north of Atlanta, but at least it’s sunny.

15 here in KC.
Like a heat wave!!

Welcome to snow in the South.

A pool is like a boat… the two best days are the day you get it and the day you get rid of it.

What’s better than having a pool or a boat? A friend that has a pool or a boat.

I have small kids. We use our pool a lot in the summer. Yes it is a pain for me to maintain but it’s not terrible. We live in the country and did a 33’x54" above ground pool.

I have a pool in a mostly hot climate and it’s been fine. Learning curve for the chemicals, but glad I have it.

A boat I will definitely not get for at least 10 years, if ever. My family is busy with other stuff and that would be a ton of time and expense to maintain. It would become a burden I’d have to force myself to use rather than a boon.

Anyone I know that has a boat it has to basically make their life revolve around it to make it worth it.

Same here.

There’s only one guy I know now who it’s working for. He’s making good money in his career and is a solo bachelor. He has all the time and bandwidth in the world, fishes at least twice a week, competes in tournaments, etc.

He’s the only one. Everyone else — certainly those with spouses/kids — appears to be sacrificing some portion of their happiness and sanity to make this boat thing work.

My dad gave me his pontoon boat. I suspect I will only use it 1-2x per year.
