I am having an attorney draw up a durable power of attorney so that my daughter can take care of things for me in the event that I no longer can

I know it has to be drawn up in the state where I live but will it still be valid if I subsequently move to another state

Probably, but it depends on the laws/rules of the state where you move. Best advice is to have it reviewed (or rewritten) after you move.
