The Union for the WNBA players may be the absolute dumbest in the world.
The league has never made money, even in the last two years with the phenom Caitlyn Clark.
They may not even be league after this CBA.

I watched maybe 10 minutes of the all star game It was stupid. No defense just shooting. What they need is better reffing and for the players to get what other leagues get like a percent of revenues. Katlin has brought other better players coming into the league. If they don’t stop the thugs and she leaves so will the others and it will go back to what it was
It’s amazing how ignorant some people are and don’t understand how a business works. If they want to make NBA money they need to draw the fans like the NBA does and fill seats like they do. It reminds me the people who whine about income inequality, they want what others have earned without putting in any effort.
It is trash basketball. They foul and bump with impunity. They walk more than the Egyptians. can only watch when Clark plays as her passes are amazing

The WNBA is like a trophy wife that opens a upscale boutique that loses hundreds of thousands a year but is subsidized by her rich husband and she thinks she’s a great business person because she’s still in business. In the real world she would have closed the doors after a year of huge losses. The husband subsidizes her to shut her up.
I guess so. I don’t watch the NBA any more. With LeBron flopping more than a fish out of water and nothing but dunks. I grew up on the greats Walton, Dr. J, Kareem, and Chamberlin.
I can’t find the article I read, but it said that the issue the WNBA union is pushing is revenue sharing and how the players should have a larger share. It made the point that nobody is expecting or suggesting that WNBA players be paid similarly to NBA players.
If it wasn’t for being heavily subsidized by the NBA their revenue is negative, what’s a bigger share of nothing?
I’m sure James was more fun to watch 10 years ago, but today he looks like an aging dude moving lazily up and down the court.
I never remember Michael Jordan looking like that, at least not routinely.
My opinion of James isn’t helped by his big political blabbermouth that makes him look like an ignorant programmed celebrity bot.
That’s yet another area in which Jordan was clearly superior. He didn’t pretend to be educated on politics and stuck to his area of expertise.

Not quite. They have revenue such as ticket sales, television contract, etc. Expenses far exceed revenue.

Please explain. You make it sound like the WNBA exists solely on the NBA’s teat and has absolutely no revenue or income of its own. I would say the WNBA would not exist if it did not have the NBA’s teat to suck on, but that is not the same as saying the WNBA has no revenue or income.
Revenue is all money coming in.
Income is money after expenses.
There has never been a year where the WNBA has had a positive income stream.
