This is one where I can see both sides. At the end of the day I disagree with this decision. Simpson was honored in the early 1980s for what he did while playing for the Bills. What he did later in his life had no bearing on that.
At the same time, I can see the Bills not wanting to deal with the hassle of that.
He was found civilly liable for the murder and did prison time for another crime.
He’s not coming out of the HOF, which explicitly says only football accomplishments are to be considered, but I don’t think they’re obligated to honor him.
