QB Matthew Sluka to exit UNLV, says ‘representations’ not upheld - ESPN
A lot of rumors going around about this, will be interesting to see how it shakes out.
Some say he wasn’t paid, some say there was no written contract, and some say that he asked for more money.
Right now it is the Wild West with NIL and the transfer portal and there needs to be some type of control. The problem is neither the NCAA nor Congress are intelligent or honest enough to be the ones to reign it in.
Report today is that Sluka said he did receive the $100K he was promised.
Then he went back and asked for more?
If so, does he owe any back since he didn’t fulfill his agreement?
The article I read said he was promised that money by an assistant coach, but there is no written agreement. I do generally tell people who ask my opinion that if it an agreement isn’t in writing, it isn’t an agreement.
I think this kid got some bad advice from adults, and now is acting on even worse advice
