SBBT and Seinfeld shouldn’t even be on the list. They’re more 90s sitcoms, introduced in 89.
Night Court could be mediocre at times, but at its best was one of the funniest things around. The reboot is meh.
You beat me to it.
I would not consider SBTT or Simpsons to even be sitcoms.
Taxi, Barney Miller, Cheers, full stop. (Seinfeld was brilliant, but more 90s, transformative).
As to “Night Court”, it seemed a bit creepy to me. I suspect there is very little happens in an actual night court that’s even close to humor. The next thing you know, someone will develop a sitcom centered around chuckles in a hospice. Such rich grounds for one liners.
Barney Miller is more 70s than 80s (anyone find it streaming anywhere?) Taxi overlaps about 50/50.
Never saw SBTB or GP, and thought the Seinfeld Show was overrated. The Bob Newhart Show (2nd one) should have been on the list.
Agreed, so do my brothers Darrell and Darrell.
Even if they don’t take those other shows off, let it take the place of Growing Pains.
Taxi was on air until 1983, which should put it on the list. One of the best of 30-40 years.
I think we caught some episodes on Prime a while back.
Simpsons is still on TV. Sure I haven’t watched it in 20 years but the show is still making it nearly 40 years later.
That’s one of our all time favorites.
