I suspect the VC factor would be much less of a problem if NY – and the nation at large – didn’t have so many laws and regulations strangling the health care industry and instead there was true market competition.

Clark said many years ago that we have neither a capitalist system (despite the left’s constant insistence otherwise) nor a socialist system, but rather a frankenstein monster combining the two concepts. And it ain’t working.

I’m not one bit surprised that New York’s hospitals rank among the worst, and I believe there are far more governmental factors to blame than private ones like VC enterprises.
