Don’t think that the test was successful
Whoopsie.
Apparently they were launching Leo internet satellites.
I’m sure the space lanes are expansive and the orbits are well planned, but I do wonder if there’s ever a significant collision risk with all the satellites up there.
I follow a parent FB group for U of Central Florida.
One mom asked about an explosion and links to this were posted all over the page.
She was at the movies when it happened.
My son is going to start his internship there on Monday.
Last time I looked, Starlink had more than half of the tracked items in orbit around the earth.
In Florida or at cape? We live pretty close. She can watch launches from the house.
In all fairness. You can watch launches from a long way away. I have a photo of one from like 50 miles away
Cape, he got an internship with NASA
If he likes universal. They have the informer event on the 12th and 13. It’s an after hours event. We will be there the 13th if he wants someone to hang out with.
You can basically ride a ride you want as the lines are short and food/drink are included. The tickets are expensive but it’s worth it
His girlfriends dad works there, he goes there all the time.
I’m trying to get my daughter’s boyfriend to work for either. lol.
Wouldn’t it be kind of ironic if Elon’s first rocket to Mars collided with a Starlink satellite.
Although Starlink is part of Musk’s evil empire, and destined to make him even wealthier, it has been a great benefit for many folks here in NM. The cable lines don’t reach those folks living outside the urban and near suburban area and cell service can also be spotty and sometimes nonexistent. Mostly reliable cell service just reached us a year or so ago.
Not dissing anyone, just that his companies have the most objects in orbit and the rocket from one of his other companies hitting one of them would be kind of ironic.
Yes it has. Just like Tesla has been a godsend for many people.
Folks like to shit on Musk due to his politics and eccentric behavior, but he is an extremely successful entrepreneur for a reason. Has a good eye for needs in the marketplace and a good (albeit imperfect) track record for delivering.
And would make you happy I imagine.
Many people also tend to forget that he gave Starlink to Ukraine for free, without it they would be part of Russia right now
So defensive. I made no comment about evil Musk or wishing him to fail…Just a comment that it would be ironic if his Space X rocket were to hit one of his Starlink statellites since Starlink has the most objects in orbit.
Sorry KC, but your history preceded your comment.
Where in my comment did I dis Musk?
