Even in the 80’s he was very popular and assumed gay. People think the right cares about these things when most people on the right just want to be left alone
I grew up in the '80s and nobody cared how he dressed or acted, it’s not like today with lefties forcing it on everyone. I wasn’t a fan of his music, but didn’t care what he was doing.
I wonder if they would feel the same if he was Boy George from the 80’s, or would they say he is luring kids into the trans culture’
You weren’t in Texas back then I was. They cared. Hell..my old roommate couldn’t stand him. We were driving and I had a cassette with a Boy George song on it (Victims) and he said “who is that”. No matter what you thought, the guy had a killer voice..
He’s wasn’t trans, he is gay. But he did think we really wanted to hurt him. Didn’t seem to affect his record sales.

He was androgynous. He work male and female clothing. He wore makeup but he very much was a man
Back in the '80s people dressed all sorts of ways, it was club culture. They were avant-garde, pushing the limits of fashion at the time. Boy George isn’t a drag queen or trans, he is (was) an artsy gay man.
Yes… It’s different. If he were around today in the 2020s given the environment that we are in. He is a man that looks like a woman. So if he would be either a drag queen, cross-dresser or trans. That would be using today’s right wing definition.
BAsed on the outrage I’ve seen over drag queens from the right, I wouldn’t expect them to embrace him with open arms.
