Nashville

Going to Nashville in a couple of weeks for a mini vacation.

I made a list of things to do, anything on this list a “must” and anything sound “over-rated”?

Country Music Hall of Fame

RCA Studio B

National Museum of African American Music

Tennessee Whiskey Tour

Hattie’s Hot Chicken

McCabe Golf Course

Hermitage Golf Cours

Music Row

Nissan Stadium

Ryman Auditorium

Johnny Cash Museum

Sometime this year, we’re planning to drive the blues highway through mississippi from Natchez to Memphis and then to Nashville and Muscle Shoals. It’s been awhile since we were in Nashville. If you have any interest in cars, I suggest the Lane Motor Museum. It’s not the typical auto museum, limited to display only. These are vehicles from everywhere in the world, almost all are small to very small, all run and are frequently driven.

Kind of far from where we are staying to be added to an already too long list.

But thanks

When is your trip? They just posted this:

February 7th through 11th.

Just looked at their calendar.
They do have an “open mic” night while I am there!!!

I went on an in the round night. You hang out, drink a beer, while 4 songwriters (not superstars, but successful typically) sit in a circle just a few feet away from you, trading songs.

There is one of those on the Saturday we fly in. I don’t know any of the artists, but a 30 second search shows that they all fall into my wheelhouse.

Tickets to Blue Bird were sold out.

Going to Backstage Nashville instead.

Don’t forget to hit the Waffle House, the later at night the better.

That’s too bad. Maybe next time.

Beware of the weather. It already has put Marty Stuart out of commission.

Checked the weather already, it will be in the high 50’s to low 60’s while we are there.
