The NHL Utah hockey club, which was their name for a season, is having trouble finding a new name. They wanted to be the Utah Yeti, but the Yeti cooler makers said no. They then chose the Utah Mammoth, and starting selling merch. They have now been issued a cease and desist by the company making Mammoth Hockey Bags. Seems to me that whoever did the name,copyright search should be quickly fired and replaced.
Best mascot ever is the UC Santa Cruz banana slugs.
I have always liked that one. In Michigan, it is the BB minor league team Lansing Lugnuts.
We have dingle berry for the marion berries. At least that is what everyone called him.
Central Florida was originally the Citronaughts, a combo of an orange and an astronaut and they still pay homage to it a couple of times a year.
