Name Tests

What causes people to get messages from name tests on Facebook I searched my iPhone and there is no app for it

Could it possibly be from all the ads on solitaire and crossword puzzle apps. Is there any way to stop them.

What does this mean?

I don’t know because when I get messages from that address in facebook messenger I just delete them without opening them

One thing I refuse to do is login with my Facebook credentials to any of these gaming apps.

They’re not really free (nothing is). They’re mining and selling your data to scammers.

If you haven’t given your Facebook info to these gaming apps, then I don’t know how they have it. It may be something else that’s the source of those messages.

It sounds like you’re doing the right thing by blocking them.

Sometimes your friends might do those “name test” things that will pop up. Many times, if their “friends” can be viewed by public, they can get your name and spam you. I changed Facebook so that only other friends can see my friends, but not the public. I still see where a friend has done one of those but I haven’t gotten messages for them.
