if you are on Medicare, are you on original Medicare with a private Medicare supplement or a Medicare advantage plan? I am on original Medicare and buy a private supplement plan as my secondary insurance.
We are on Medicare and each of us has a United Health supplemental plan (Plan F, now limited to those who were Medicare eligible before 1-1-2020).
I have a Medicare advantage plan. I had a very similar plan for all the years I worked. I’ve been on Medicare for three years and I have no issues with them. If I get something so dire that is going to require all kinds of specialists, I’ve kind of already made up my mind that I’m OK with leaving the world.
i I am older than most of you so my perspective is very different now than it was when I was in my 60s at that time I would have thought that Medicare advantage plans were more cost-effective because you don’t need an expensive Medicare supplement plan and it covers a few things that traditional. Medicare doesn’t cover at the stage of my life. I feel traditional Medicare with a supplement plan is better because while it covers a few things that traditional Medicare doesn’t it doesn’t cover a number of things that Medicare does or will make someone get a less effective eye shot then traditional Medicare will cover
Yes ma’am it is better. With a so-called “Advantage” plan you add a gate keeper to the [govt] one you already have, and all that is worse if you choose an HMO. Forget all that s**t I don’t care that the price tag is less and they offer cheap OTC freebies. Your supplement is really an insurance policy for the time when you really need it and the “advantage” turns out to not be an advantage at all. And don’t worry that your supplement is paying piddly amounts…
