So the old Whirlpool front load quit after 14 years and we bought a new Maytag top load. It has a Pet Pro button you can turn on but I really don’t know what it does.
There is an important note in the manual… Do not put pets in washer!

Our Maytag dryer is 25. I have a deal with our local repair guy - I will always call him for needed service and he will keep it going. The new dryers are bigger than ours and the space to place them is limited. The original Maytag washer lasted only 8 years and its replacement LG lasted 14.
I moved my laundry from the basement to my closet in my bedroom…that best thing I’ve ever done here! I bought a GE stacked washer/dryer for space. It looks a bit odd, but I love it. it even does the “smart water level” thing but my clothes get really clean.
That would be convenient.
The first person who can invent a pet washer/dryer system will be the next richest person in the world. Although I had labrador retrievers and once they got over being pissed off about being wet by the hose, they were perfectly well behaved while I washed and dried them. As soon as I was done, they would go roll in the dirt.
One dog knows how to swim, the other does not. We will probably get them puppy life jackets next summer
My first labrador was bred from “show stock”. She LOOKED awesome…and she was a great dog…but she would only wade in water until it touched her belly. She was an excellent swimmer but she did not like to swim. My other to labs were bred from hunting stock. I couldn’t get within 200 yards of water without them hauling ass and jumping in. the older of those two used to swim with my daughter and her cousins at her uncles farm lake. There was a ‘swim dock’ in the middle of the lake. By the second time the older dog went in, she was able to climb the ladder out of the lake and get on the dock with the kids.
To bring it back to the subject of this topic…that lake was their ‘pet wash’.
