does anyone take a magnesium glycinate pill that is easy to swallow the ones I have tried so far are so big. I feel like I’m gonna choke on them.
no mine are huge
I have been thinking of taking some kind of MG, possibly to sleep better, but haven’t looked into it beyond that to see which one would work best.
I take it but even the capsules were hard for me to swallow. I bought the Thorne brand powder MG and mix it in water or juice, tart cherry or pomegranate. It doesn’t dissolve that well, but I just keep stirring it.
Edited to add: It doesn’t taste bad even in water. I only take it with tart cherry juice for the extra benefit.
If you find the pills to be a bit much
Yes I take magnesium citrate though I have taken glycerinate. I believe they sell gummies. Also if they’re capsules see if you can open them up
A pharmacist hopefully can help. for me, it’s more liquids and saliva I struggle to swallow though sometimes it’s the small pills like Sudafed that get me
Typically glycerinate is good if you want to sleep while citrate is good if you want help with regularity
Very cool I like tart cranberry
I actually choke on powder so I have to take pills
does magnesium glycinate come in the form of gum, Gummies?
Don’t take medical advice from me, including any assumption that this is the right one, but it appears so.
This is what “Claude” has to say…
Nature Made High Absorption Magnesium Glycinate Gummies — 100 mg per 2 gummies, chelated and gentle on the stomach. This is a well-known, trusted drugstore brand, available at CVS and elsewhere. Nature Made®
Qunol Magnesium Glycinate Gummies — 120 mg of high-absorption magnesium glycinate per serving, mixed berry flavored, gluten-free and vegetarian. Qunol
GPGP Magnesium Glycinate Gummies — 400mg Magnesium Glycinate with 200mg elemental magnesium, plus calcium, potassium, vitamin D3, B6, and CoQ10, sugar-free and vegan. Sold on Walmart’s site. walmart
A couple of notes worth keeping in mind:
- Watch the “400mg” labeling. A lot of these products list “400mg magnesium glycinate” but that’s the compound weight, not the elemental magnesium — the actual usable magnesium is often much lower (100-200mg). Check the label for “elemental magnesium” if you want to hit a specific dose.
- Nature Made and Qunol are more mainstream/established brands if that matters to you; GPGP and similar are newer Amazon/Walmart-marketplace brands.
Most that I’ve found on Amazon come in smallish, gel capsules, about the size of a multivitamin. You need to take 3 to 4 a day to get the MDR.
