What’s with people carrying around thousands in cash?
That was my first thought as well.
I frequently realize I am carrying zero cash. With credit cards, Apple Pay, etc, I don’t see why anyone would carry that much.
Maybe that’s just chump change to her.
Recently when I was looking for a used car. I had an envelope with $12,000 cash I carried with me for about a month.
Today I probably have about $300 in cash in my wallet but if I am actively looking to buy something, it is not uncommon for me to carry $3-5K.
I live 60 miles from work. I don’t want to go home to get cash to come back to buy something. I bank at local bank chain and my closest location is about 45 mile drive from where I work. My ATM limit is set to $2,000 per day but that is not always enough.
Thinks on my short list to buy currently is a small shop forklift and older project truck. The forklifts I am looking at range from about $1000-4000. The project truck is something less than $6K. When good deals pop up, they don’t last long and require fast action.
Several years ago I sold my Jeep on marketplace.
Guy showed up with $7000 and it was MLKs birthday
