This is funny to me. They say he won’t hand over the throne, as if he’s doing anything meaningful to influence state politics.
He’s a limp figurehead. A drain on the treasury.
The Royal Family is near the top on my list of things I couldn’t care less about.
That’s the proper attitude. We are Americans. We don’t do royalty. Been there, done that.
Not sure if it’s true but I’ve heard the royal family is actually a revenue generator the England.
I doubt it very much. I’d be interested to hear an explanation of how that supposedly works.
Meh. I don’t think anyone needs the royal family for people to visit “royal historical landmarks.”
Even if the government does generate revenue from tourists snooping on the pampered parasites live, it’s essentially celebrity worship.
That would be like saying Hollywood actors generate revenue for America. The difference is these people gain their fame on the private market and aren’t pretending to be important state nobility. (Though some of them come close, talking politics in front of every camera they can find.)
I am against royalty but it isn’t my country. They are free to do as they want but I find it weird.
My kid wants to go to London just for a real Full English breakfast. We also want to go to Japan just visit the Costco.
I don’t care what happens. I however would like to go tour the palace just for historical reasons.
I’ve seen YouTube videos of idiots messing with the guards, don’t do that. Before we had our kid we traveled quite a bit, England and Ireland were next on the list but I got one by the goalie and my wife got pregnant.

I’m a descendent of William Wallace. Maybe I can get the Scots to pay me a pension and have their media follow me around gossiping about my every move.

- A buddy I knew from Scotland in the 90’s told me that a lot of people claiming ancestory from Wallace had no real claim. Not accusing you at all, I just remember him telling me.

What’s funny is the name brave heart has nothing to do Wallace. They also didn’t wear worg or kilts.
Fascinating. I had never heard of Wallace until last Friday when wife pulled out Brave Heart and we watched it. Lots of blood and gore.
Brave heart was Robert the Bruce. Steven was my favorite character in that movie.
