Prior to installing an update on my iPhone I like to check that is compatible with my iPhone model. When I checked it in the web it said it was compatibile with iOS 18 but didn’t specifically say ios18.6.2. Can I assume it is safe to install that update which has already been automatically been downloaded to my phone.
I assume you are referring to iOS updates only.
My understanding is that Apple will not offer/allow an iOS update to your iPhone unless the iPhone model is compatible.
I don’t have an iPhone, but I presume the software version numbering is similar to other software. I suspect you have iOS 18 and the .6.2 following the 18 indicate prior updates to version 18.
I thought she was referring to other software updates, making sure they were compatible with her IOS.
I thought so too until I read her last sentence. Need more clarification.
Thanks for the responses. I currently have iOS 18.6. 1 installed on my iPhone and am asking if it is ok to install the iOS 18,6.2 update that was automatically downloaded to my iPhone
I don’t see why not. Mine is going to tonight.
Mine loaded night before last.
For whatever reason is logged me out of my fitness ring.
Thanks again! I just installed the update!
