Internet story tellers' BS stories

Does anyone get suckered into listening to these? They seem to abound on Screw Tube but could of course appear anywhere. Seems to me they generally have a single still picture and captioned narrative running 20 or 30 minutes to an hour. Tacky captioning with misspelling jumping out. I have seen them on the likes of Pam Bondi, Karoline, and others.

Wife pointed out a recent one claiming Ilhan Omar got convicted of money laundering, but it seems to be a total fabrication. Any ideas on identifying and combating these, other then close them?

I’ve run across several that have a semi-robotic voice, which as far as I can tell is AI driven.

I suspect it’s miscreants of some kind trying to brainwash or instigate the lay public.

I would click the :-1: button, and also open the triple dot on the preview and select “do not recommend this channel”

It’s click bait, just move on.

AI, or as I call it AUI (Artificial unintelligence) is taking over YouTube. The audio is a dead giveaway - I like aviation related videos and when the narrator talks about “The Boeing Seven Hundred Forty Seven”, it ain’t human. Often times the just have stock photos, in many cases that have nothing to do with what is being discussed. I mark them with a thumbs down and also select “don’t recommend this channel”. Also, the photo in the list of videos is pretty much click bait.

I’ve also heard isolated mispronounced words or improperly inflected/accented words in an American accent.

One example was “soft gels” — the narrator pronounced gels with a hard G.

YouTube overall has become trash. It’s full of shitty ads (or you can ditch them for $20 a month), and content creators pump out lots of junk volume so that they will stay relevant in the algorithm.

A content creator’s followers become loyal and trusting, and they don’t realize he is eventually giving them low-value clickbait to maintain his income stream.

There was one I saw this morning on concept cars that said it was powered by a Lamborghini V12. Except it called it a 512. The other thing is the pause between words where there shouldn’t be a pause. A football video about Jack Youngblood was "he was born in Jacksonville(pause pause pause) FLORIDA.

I encountered artificial intelligence yesterday when I tried to call Best Buy about a question involving recycling. I couldn’t get an intelligent answer so the first time I called the AI that answered the phone a Fuckhead.

I did not wait for the AI response.

It would respond with “I’m not sure I understand…”. I know because I did the same thing

LOL
